UCM Lee’s Summit summer camps include STEAM Coding, Stories for Justice and College Application Essay

The University of Central Missouri will offer several engaging and educational summer camps during July, ranging from coding to social justice writing, at the Lee’s Summit campus. More information about the special events is available at the university’s summer camp webpage.

STEAM Coding Summer Camp is a week-long adventure for students from kindergarten through third grade. STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, art and math. The camp will include scientific investigations, games, crafty projects and fun. The course will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon July 8-12 at the Missouri Innovation Campus in Lee’s Summit. Two summer camps are offered by UCM and the Greater Kansas City Writing Project. Stories for Justice is for high-school students and will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 15-19 at the Missouri Innovation Campus. Cost is $150.

The College Application Essay: Your Story, Our Help provides pro tips to help students find the unique story that will open doors to their future. Designed for high-school students, the workshop is offered from 9 a.m. to noon July 12 at the Missouri Innovation Campus. Cost is $45.

An additional session of Stories for Justice will be offered July 8-12 at St. Teresa’s Academy in Kansas City.
