Congratulations to Kathy Nash, of Summit Technology Academy, who has been selected to receive the 2020 Teacher of the Year Distinguished Service Award from Missouri Educators of Family and Consumer Sciences and Human Services (MoEFACS).

Ms. Nash has taught in the district for 20 years. She spent 17 years at Lee’s Summit North High School year and the last three at Summit Technology Academy, where she is the Family Consumer Science chair and the Teacher Educator Academy coordinator.

“She has such a passion about what she does,” says Ms. Nash’s former colleague, Abby Bastian. “She is able to recruit students who do not want to be a ‘typical educator’ to her program and show them how the content she teaches can still be used in the corporate world.”
